Engine Recognition Technology is recognized by all the Talking Railway Series destinations. There are gold magnet connectors to differentiate from regular engines. There is a gold name and Engine Recognition Icon on bottom of each engine

The trains do not talk, they activate the destinations which speak to the trains.
